Updates & News!

News:

An orientation toward beauty is intrinsic to our nature. Attaining beauty is part of our purpose. And since it’s everyone’s responsibility to fulfill his purpose, beauty is everybody’s moral responsibility.

Beauty: What It Is & Why It Matters (Miravalle); Page 4

There is a true yet beaten phrase, “Beauty will save the world.” It is true, Beauty will save the world because God himself is Beauty. He is the creator and author of beauty, and we see a reflection of his beauty in creation itself. Just as an artist signs their works, you can find God’s signature in all of creation, most especially in humanity. We are made in the image and likeness of God, and it is that likeness that is his signature.

Why does the Guild of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a Guild devoted to espousing and providing enriching encounters of Beauty, exist? Because just as Miravalle states, that if we are made by, and for, Beauty, it is a moral responsibility to not only seek out encounters of Beauty and to appreciate them, but to make them known so that others may encounter Beauty. In today’s world, Beauty is the one transcendental that cannot be argued with and just like Augustine, may draw so many to encounter the Lord in a way that opens their hearts to Truth and Goodness in their totality, one that draws them to follow Christ the Way, the Truth & the Life.

In the coming weeks, an invitation will be sent out. This invitation will be one that asks you to consider taking up this moral imperative of Beauty and discern becoming an inducted member of the Guild of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. There is a reason you are on this email list. Perhaps you were made for a time like this where Beauty is our battlefield, and we are fighting for the salvation of souls.

In the meantime, join us for tomorrow’s Artist Social or please consider supporting and/or attending one of our upcoming events or an event of one of our sisters Guilds. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. Keep us in prayer as we continue to hold you up in prayer!

Events:

In concert with the Jubilee for Artists happening in Rome from February 16th-18th, a time of fellowship and networking for artists of every stripe in the Diocese of Bridgeport and beyond!

The St. Paul Guild for Evangelical Outreach will be hosting a Truth on Tap with speaker, Fr. David Roman speaking on the topic of Mission & Purpose as regards to Evangelization! No cost and food and drinks provided!

Young Juilliard trained musicians who have partnered with us before are having a concert at St. Mary’s in Norwalk. The violin emerged as a virtuosic instrument in 17th century Italy, but its popularity quickly spread throughout Europe thanks to itinerant musicians. As the instrument found its way to the British Isles, an exciting fusion of sounds combined Italian virtuosity and traditional music. This program includes works by Corelli, Matteis, and Playford.
